Recently, I was fortunate enough to attend a beach wedding. The invite stressed beachy-casual which surprisingly, is harder than one may think.
I think the tricky part is to look formal but, relaxed and also have something breathable. Instantly, I thought about something long and flowy with a straw bag and sandal. But, as time shortened and options for matching sets weren’t quite dressy enough, I was lucky to find this jumpsuit. As you know by now, I love fashion simply because it is one way that I can express myself. Naturally, I dressed to impress, practically of course but, with a statement nonetheless. I always say it’s better to be overdressed than underdressed. You just never know where each situation will take you. So here’s my outfit breakdown. Hopefully, they can serve as tips for anyone aiming for a “casual” wedding.
I’d rather be overdressed than underdressed.

Pink Jumpsuit: from New York and Company. Okay, this brand is especially great for women with curves. They have great quality pieces for events, especially weddings, at amazing prices. As soon as I saw this jumpsuit, it was a wrap. Plus, it fits like a glove. (similar here, here and amazing polka-dot one here)
Flat shoes: I told you I can be a practical gal. I’m pretty much mentally at a place where heels are the last thing I want to wear and seeing as this was a casual vibe, calling for walking in the sand, sandals were a no-brainer. If you’re like me and try your best to avoid heels, get yourself some mules. These low-heeled inexpensive mules are actually from JC Penny! I know, I randomly went in on a whim one day and stumbled upon them. They have great accessories that are mostly on sale, check them out. (here)
Fanny pack: optimal dancing accessory (practicality points maxed out for an outfit). I had seen quite a few fanny packs on social media but, wasn’t quite sold on the look. If you follow Romee Strijd, she actually styled a pink jumpsuit with a fanny that I absolutely fell in love so I decided to recreate it for this event. This patent faux-leather fanny is from Amazon and it’s quite affordable. Fits the essentials including card holder, iPhone, charger port and lip balm. Can be worn casual or dressed up. **The only con is that if you aim to wear it right on your waist it runs a little big. I easily fixed this by creating another hole with sharp scissors.** (similar here, here and in red here )
Half-Moon Sunglasses: another amazon steal and my staple summer glasses. So much so that I also have them in tortoise. They make me feel like Grace Jones. (here)
Jewelry: I kept my jewelry at a minimal with mismatched gold drop earrings as I wanted my other accessories and jumpsuit to make a statement. (similar here)
Makeup: Kept a natural look. Concentrated on having natural looking dewy skin with highlight. (tutorial here)
Wear whatever you like and don’t apologize.
